So, after a tumultuous Saturday/Sunday, during which my betrothed
thelma_viaduct celebrated her birthday, Swinton won the league, our new housemate Russell moved in and we were awakened after an awesome party by Martin telling us that "someone is pissing in our oven..!" Monday has been a bit of a comedown!
gizzard was also greeted on his arrival by a burning bin outside the Co-op next door! Riots even touched Chorlton! Then some teenage girls turned up to have their photos taken with the firemen, surreal times all round!
The best thing about it was that there was no bad atmosphere (and no kicking off either), is this partly to do with not having to cater for the 'darksiders'? Possibly so?! It's our first party without even inviting this increasingly insular and fragmental group, I think it'll continue..!
The letters on the Pulp cake I presented at midnight (which I managed to sort out from a local bakers) was written so amateurishly, I could have probably passed it off as my own! I don't regret claiming student discount for it now. Yes, student discount, I left the University of Salford back in 2004!
Annoyingly, we both had to work on Toni's birthday, Toni doing some criminally underappreciated logging and me doing the rugby reports (see the 2 previous posts!), so with the culminated effects of the party, work and little sleep, we crashed into bed and just about managed to watch 'Black Sheep' -
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0779982/ which rather unfairly got only 5.9 on IMDB and reminded me a lot of 'Braindead'; which is a very good thing!
Today (well the Monday after) which consisted of listening in on some calls in my new job was tough work but despite being a little dispirited after returning home earlier on, I realised there are worse places to be in the world! Life is generally pretty great right now!
