More tub thoughts

I thought of another way to fix the tub. I was planning on using the foam rope and caulk to seal the gap and then I had a realization. Since I'm planning on replacing the cover for the tub anyway, instead of getting the cover the same size as the current one (shell) I can get one that fits to the outside of the enclosure with a longer skirt. Thus preventing the wind and rain from forcing its way in. TaDa! I'll work on ordering and paying for that after the tub is up and functional and hopefully before it snows. I still need to check the gap to make sure the foam and caulk will work and how big I need, otherwise some quarter-round or base shoe and caulk might work as well.

Today over lunchtime I stopped by Menards and picked up the adapters and things needed to finish up the wiring from the pipe coming out of the concrete, to the tub controller to keep it away from the water and such. So now I just need the time (and semi-decent weather) to actually do the rest of the work for the hookup. Tonight is booked as is the whole of the weekend, and Monday if forecasted rain. Hopefully Tuesday evening I can get some of this done, or sneak bits and pieces of it in before then.
