Merry (Belated) Christmas and a Happy New Year! I got Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert from my youngest sister Angel on Christmas morning and Steve Erikson's Midnight Tides from the staff here in the PCH when I got back. I just finished reading House of Chains today! Sadly, Mother was drunk over the holidays. She'd start to talk loud and I'd have to raise my voice to respond to her so that she could hear me.
All in all, it proved to be a very unpleasant experience, especially on our last night together, on which I called her a "dumb drunk," or something to that effect. I can't really remember all the specifics of what I've been enduring lately, though. Something imperfect I noticed about myself tonight is that I've been "simping." For those who don't know what that means, I won't explain, as it's kind of embarassing--just look it up--but I'm putting a stop to it, thankfully, now that I realize that that's what I was doing. Something else...I remember my dad once saying that he "just watch[es] TV," and he suggested that I just do what other people do, which seems a little "monkey see, monkey do."
As I read on a "self-improvement" blurb on Facebook, it's not TV that we need...but books. As I read, I do a lot of studying things, too. I'm really into English and physics. As my grandpa once said, "I take my medication and then the next chapter begins." I'm eager to crack these new volumes open and continue my adventures....
