I came across something from my childhood that actually, honestly, creeps me out beyond belief. I watched a clip of Disney's The Lion King, specifically the section "Be Prepared" where Scar is making his offer to the hyenas. When it gets to where the hyenas are goosestepping past Scar, I freeze and stiffen up. My thought is, why? What is it about that part that makes a chill go down my spine and make by blood run cold?
I think it's the blind obedience myself. Also, I think Disney's artists took some footage of the Nazis and used that for a little inspiration. If so, I tip my hat to them. That, entwined with the uniform look of the hyenas looks like the proposed eugenics program that Hitler came up with. Just that sort of state, of being in complete thrall and doing the whim of someone who is so totally corrupt is... horrifying.
