1.5 days...
Mmm... final countdown... Kim arrived safe and sound some time tonight.. she was just starting to unpack her stuff.. but not too motivated to do so. We talked on the phone for a while (probably like 2 hours again) while I walked around outside by the pool. I guess my Mom didn't see me go out there, and thought I had left the house.. she was looking all around the house for like an hour for me :).
Today my Mom and I drove up to the Carefree and Cave Creek areas, which are about 20 mins or so North of Scottsdale. We went to the Horny Toad restaurant and had great burgers. Carefree has the world's largest (or at least a pretty big) sundial in the center of the town, so we took our obligatory pictures there, too. We found a cool tapas bar there, but it was only open after 4pm. Next drove out to my grandparents and visited with them for a couple hours or so. Came back, went to the grocery store to get a few things, then came back home. I checked my blood pressure and it is still way high.. 154/75 today, higher than a few days ago. I'll go see a doctor when I get back to Ames to see what the deal is.
My flight leaves at 3:30pm tomorrow, so I should get up relatively early and start packing my stuff. I just hope I remember to bring everything back that I brought down with me. I am going to exchange my headphones that I bought, since they have a slight electronic buzzing sound.. like interference or something. I bought them on amazon.com, but they don't have any in stock, so I'm going to buy a pair from Circuit City, then return them my defective ones. Yes, it's a bit shady, but it's not a brick-in-the-box or anything. Then going to Borders to buy one more book (luckily a novel) that I need. I still need my textbook for English 314, but I don't know which one I need yet - bookstore website doesn't list my instructor for some reason. Will update again once I'm in Ames. Oh, and I have a date with Kim on Saturday night :).
