Clubbin it up

Friday night a few of the ChE's (Eric Niemeyer, Eric Divishek, Jenna, and Jenna's non-ChE friend) went to Mickey's for FAC at around 4pm. My plan was just to stay for a couple hours, go back and eat, go to Laura's party across the hall, stay for a couple hours, then go to Kim's party wherever she was. Yeah, ended up staying at Mickey's from 4pm - about 1:30am. It was a lot better than I expected. Started out on the upper level, which has the standard bar, tables and chairs, pool table, etc. Beer was pretty cheap, 50 cents or a dollar, so filled up on that for a while. Then headed downstairs, where they had an open area where people started dancing and having a good time. Danced with a bunch of different girls, (Jenna excluded, haha), drank some more, ran into Kelly McCool (went to Jefferson, who was looking pretty fine), apparently also ran into Kelly Johnson (another fine graduate of JHS 2002) - bought Kelly McCool and I a shot of Bacardi, but she didn't like it, so gave it to Johnson instead. Didn't recognize her there, though. She knew my name, so I feel bad for not knowing who she was. Stayed there and danced with a few more girls.

Left around 11:30 and went to Welch Avenue Station and met up with Kim and her friends for a belated birthday celebration. Welch Ave is more laid back, sports bar type of place. Had a long island iced tea with her, contemplated telling her that she's totally cute, but decided against being too forward at this point. Brad and his girlfriend Malorie were there, but took off before I got there because she wasn't feeling well. Dave Lohry was there, but outside of Kim and Dave I don't know their group too well, so only stayed until around 12:30. Thought about going back to Mickey's, but Eric and others had left, so I went home. Caught the moonlight express bus (aka Drunk Bus) home with Jenna and Kristin and crashed for the night.

Today I slept in, went to Best Buy and bought some gifts for my mom and dad, saw that Lindsey Bennett works there which I was unaware of, got food from HyVee and made a Sausage and Chicken Jambalaya to take with for the night. The other SIE Exec board members got together and had a pot-luck dinner of sorts - the theme was to bring a dish that began with your initials. Eggplant or Egg salad didn't sound good, Jello, Jello-Shots, no, so I found Jambalaya which sounded good. It was Emeril's Recipe, and turned out well. I cooked it a bit long and burned the bottom layer of rice, but it was still tasty.

Tomorrow will begin with a trip to Borders to buy a couple movies for the grandparents, then homework and studying for finals. Time is running out! Finals Monday and Tuesday!

Conclusion: My opinion of Mickey's has changed - it is now completely awesome, due mainly to the dance area in the basement. I will definitely have to go back this semester and next for FAC and other occasions.
