So I forgot to update on the activities of last weekend as well...
Friday night I helped Ryan (SIE) make a few of the gifts for the exchange students that were here this semester. Around 8pm, a few of the ChE's along with some of their friends rented out People's bar for a graduation party. They had about 8-10 kegs of beer that was free. There were 14 total people that organized/paid for the event, and each had 25 invitations to give out. It lasted from 8pm - 1:30am or so, and it was a blast. Jenna, Eric, and I got there at about 8:30, and it was a great time. Saw lots of other ChE's that were in our classes, and just had a blast. Lots of booze went around, and I got pretty wasted. I left at around 11pm to go see Steven and Beth at Element. Club was packed, and that was pretty fun. Steven, Beth, and Rachelle (Beth's best friend) were there. Danced with some random girls who apparently moved away but then got closer.. (why don't I remember these good things), asked some cute Asian girl to dance, but she said no... haha. Had a couple more drinks there. Left around 12:30, tried to walk back, and Steven basically shoved me into his car and drove me back to People's - thanks, Steven :). I was confident that I could walk, but he didn't think so. Was at People's for maybe 1/2 hour - 1 hour more, then Jenna, Eric, and I went across the street to Mickey's. Mickey's was smaller, two levels, and I didn't like it that much, but I was in a haze by that time. Left around 2am and took the drunk bus home. I bought Jenna a drink and got a kiss out of it, so it wasn't all bad.
Saturday afternoon Susie, Matthew, Jenna, and I got together for our last ChE Family Dinner. It turned into lunch cause we moved the time back, but it was still fun. Susie made an awesome Sausage Jambalaya, I brought a fruit bowl, Jenna baked a cake for Matthew's upcoming birthday, and we just hung out and talked about life in general. Eric didn't show up (probably still sleeping/hung over). After that I went to the Bon Voyage party for the exchange students - it was a small party to say goodbye and thanks for coming to ISU. We had sandwiches and drinks, decorated cookies, handed out gifts (a photo with frame to sign on, like a yearbook somewhat), and reminisced about the semester. Everyone said that had a fantastic time. SIE is unique in that none of the other colleges have similar programs that plan so many activities for the students to do together, which is a really good thing to help them integrate into our culture, make friends, and just have a good time. I wish there was something this advanced when I was at NUS - there were one or two activities, but it was everyone lumped together, so wasn't as good. Later that evening I went to Steven and Beth's and we watched House of Wax (with Paris Hilton). It was a bit gruesome and had some scenes of torture (finger cut off, achilles tendon being cut with scissors, etc.), but Paris Hilton gets killed. Watched snipets of the American Iron Chef (meh) and Jackass, then played Scene It - it's a game of movie trivia, but it has a DVD with movie clips, so it's pretty cool.
Sunday I slept in until 2pm.. was really lazy. Did some homework in the afternoon/evening.
