Today I went to the range and send a green man back 50 yards, and fired 50 rounds at him from a standing, unsupported position using iron sights. I only missed the silhouette once, and almost all would have put him down. I sent 5 strings of 10 rounds each, with 3-5 seconds between shots.
Not bad for half a football field away. To put this into perspective, misalignment of your sights by the width of a hair translates into inches at a target 50 yards away. Maintaining that accurate a sight picture through the firing sequence is extremely difficult. I think I'm getting pretty good at this shooting thing...
