Just found out that some kid I know fighting in Iraq was injured. I say 'kid' because he's like...probably 5 years younger than me. I've known him since he was basically born. Got shot in the groin with an AK-47.
Apparently the bullet didn't actually penetrate, as he had some kind of armor on. But he needed surgery nonetheless.
His enlistment is almost up, so his fighting days are probably over...knock on wood.
