"Okay, so if they can upload consciousness to a computer, they'd need really high-res neural scanning capability. What would that look like? *googles 3D cell scanning* Ooh, isotropic imaging of living cells using Bessel beam plane illumination, that sounds interesting. Except that's a surface thing. I'm gonna need some kind of radiography for this, I think, since they'll need to be able to see inside the cells. *googles more* Something along the lines of CT scans or structural MRIs, but on a really detailed level. Electron microscopes are the fancy-schmancy ones they use to look at proteins, right? Is electron tomography a thing? *googles more* Man, this is taking a long time. I really should get back to writing."
