On Elections

Well, last night was Elections Night for the Band-uh, where we vote on who takes over the offices in November. I myself ran for Librarian (aka the person who makes all the music copies), but was unsuccessful. :( I guess the deck was already stacked against me, because 1) Kate, the current Librarian, also ran and she'd already done a kick-ass job, and 2) I still didn't know if I'd even continue being a UCD student next year.

But even so, it still meant a lot to me that I could even try. A long time ago, I was really hung up over the assumption that I'd only get two years in Band-uh, and that I could never even try for Ossifer or section leader, etc. But in the end, I *DID* try! And it was fun. Plus, ANYONE will say that future Librarian candidates will be hard-pressed to write a song as good as mine! (Librarian candidates have to write a parody of one of our songs and sing it for everyone. I did "Beer Truck Driver," a popular tune among the Band, and changed it to "Band Archiver.")

So I'm disappointed, but at the same time I guess it's a loas off my back - no more worrying about how being an ossifer will fit into my schedule. NOW if I get into UCD's program, I'll push to become baritone section leader - not as prestigious as an office, but probably loads more fun. ;)

My brain is exhausted but still has a thousand thoughts running through it at once. Can't sleep... GRRRR.

I guess I'll try to fall asleep again. But one last thought: Kate, because you're doing a 2nd term, you have NO I.T.!! Somehow I don't think making retreat folders is something you want to do alone. See you over the summer. :)
