Hello Sweetie

Had my first lesson on a newish horse last night that I hope will become a regular thing. "Sweetie" has been at the stable about 6 months but she's young (about 7 y/o) and still green so they're bringing into the lesson program slowly. She wasn't as bad as I feared. I was warned she was still skittish around the arena doors but she was pretty well behaved. She doesn't like a lot of leg and it only takes a touch to get her to trot and likewise with her canter. She takes quite a hold of the bit on a trot but relaxes on the canter (second direction is best). In fact, the more relaxed you are the more relaxed she is. She'll slow down if you slow your post and she'll stop on a dime on a "whoa" so you need to do that easy as well. She's a good size for me and I hope I get to ride her again.

My instructor said she was going through the old release forms and I had been riding there since 2007. Doesn't seem that long.
