it's number crunch time again, I know how much all you baseball fans got off on my previous post so it's time for an update on Boston's biggest (literally) slugger.
Since my last post Ortiz has been in 20 and batted 60 times, he's raised his batting average to .225 from .197 with 6 Home Runs, 14 RBI, .319 OBP (up from .288), and .391 Slugging (up from 308).
The new numbers I'm going to project are going on the assumption that Ortiz' previous 20 games are something we can count on him continuing and that he'll play in at least 70 of the 84 games left in the season.
New projected numbers for the end of the season: Average .268, 29 Home Runs, 85 RBI, OBP .382 and Slugging .534 so not a terrible season, looks like the only mark he would fall short of my last prediction would be the batting average by about 14 points, but that could still change. I'll visit this again in about a month and we'll see how he's doing.
