Now that I am back fro my latest trip I suppose I should right a little review. We flew from LAX to SEA on the tiniest little jet I've ever been on. It wasn't much fun. . .the stupid thing was only 3 seats across and as long as a couple of school buses so we were getting bounced around quite a bit. Well. Now I know why those tickets were so cheap. Once we got into Seattle we caught a cab to our cheap hotel which wasn't all that bad, though I imagine next time (if there is a next time) we see the Travel lodge by the Space Needle it should be a bit nicer and more expensive as they were undergoing renovations. So we spent a few days checking out the Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Woodland Park Zoo, Science Fiction Museum and Pike Place Market. All of those places were pretty cool. The best food we had in Seattle was at Zeek's Pizza. If I had to pick one thing ad a favorite it would have to be feeding the giraffe at the zoo, that was just cool.
From Seattle we caught a train to Portland. The train ride itself was beautiful but I guess there were stress problems with the Columbia River bridge because of the unusual heat wave so it took us an extra hour or so to get to our stop. In Portland we "couch surfed" with a nice lady names Marky who kindly put us up in her camper for three nights. We spent our first couple of days checking out the Portland Saturday Market and the local Theater Pubs. Our last two nights were spent at the Portland International Guest House which I recommend to just about anyone. The guest house is located in the Nob Hill district which is filled with neat little shops and good places to eat, we suggest Rose's if you're in the area. The best thing about the Portland part of the trip, Theater Pubs that play second run/ art flicks. After all that we flew back to LAX on a normal sized jet.
All in all the trip was pretty good. Would have been nicer if I didn't end up with a nasty cold halfway through. Oh well, I will post pictures later.
