Thoughts on Trolls?

Ken gave me some insight about trolls today (speculative, but still) that I thought was helpful. His theory is that people like to troll because of power. A troll who successfully manages to derail a conversation, inflame or upset others, etc. has power. At least with regards to discussions of human rights and equality, I think most of it is people who actually do have such a level of entitlement that they don't see it as making themselves important- of course they get to come in and speak over you, of course you're wrong, of course they don't have to know what they're talking about. When you look at the behavior patterns, it's very much like socially groomed narcissistic personality disorder.
