I recieved notice of a package last night, sent to Rieber Hall. I was frustrated that they sent the package to the wrong hall, but I was relieved because I thought it meant that the mother's day present I ordered online did indeed come on time.
So I was a big girl and I sucked it up and walked the ardous steps up to Rieber Hall. I navigated the building for the mailroom. I announced, in a relieved way,"I have a package!"
They said, "Sign here while I get it!"
So I did. And then they came back and handed me an envelope.
"An envelope?" I said. "Why didn't they send it to my hall, then?"
"Beats me," the mail room person said, and shooed me away.
Saddened that the mother's day present would indeed be arriving late, I trod away while tearing the envelope open.
The letter inside said: "Yup. We aren't hiring you this summer. Love, Rieber Front Desk."
They really could have mailed it to me instead of having me suffer the indignity of walking to their front desk to give me a news they were too passive agressive to email me about. Or just, um, tell me. Poopoo heads.
Frick on a stick! :_: It really does look like Access Control is the be-all-and-end-all of summer employment.
