What I saw...

Aug 17, 2008 18:21

so it's the end of my holidays and it's time to review all the things I saw.

Wall-E
cute cute cute.
I hesitated before seeing it but it was really great, full of poetry, funny...

In bruges
Really great too.
I went there thinking it was a big comedy but no.
of course there were funny moments but it was a real big drama which made me cry lol
the atmosphere is quite dark and it really makes you feel all the time that it is a drama.

Starter for ten
With James McAvoy and Catherine Tate.
This one was really funny. A young man from the countryside going at the university. really basic.
It was weird to see Catherine Tate as a mom as she was quite young for that kind of role but she was great.
And James McAvoy was really great too in an ambitious knowledge-full young student who discovers the world XD
and of course I really like his relationship with Spencer ^o^
So another James' movie to see.

The last king of Scotland
Again with James lol
It's about Amin Dada, the dictator of Uganda. James is a young doctor who becomes his physician/adviser before discovering the madness of the dictator.
This one was really hard to see. Of course the subject is hard so it couldn't be a comedy.
Forest Whitaker is astonishing. He made me shivers of fear when he acted some mad episode of Amin...
James is also really great and what I really liked is that we see the story with his "innocent" eyes and we discover all terror with him.
And just a note : James reminds me of young Ewan at the begining of the film... with the hair and the "scottish look" lol

Becoming Jane
Ok... this one is about Jane Austen.
Only one thing to say : you can watch it for James McAvoy (and it's not his best role) but otherwise don't loose your time.
If you want to see this kind of movie you can watch P&P. it's much better.
(it was not so bad but well... )

Casino Royal
CAMEO ALAN ! *cough*
So it was weird. Because I liked the very begining. then it bored me a lot (it was just fight, pretty whores and car advertising) and then (when Eva Green appears in fact) I loved it :s
So let's say I liked it lol
I really like the end scene in the water. it was really beautiful (no spoiler so watch it to figure out)
I didn't fall in love with Daniel Craig but I really want to see Infamous to really make my mind.

St Trinian's
LOL
This was the WTF movie XD
I really liked it.
Ruppert Everett in headmistress = LOL
Russell Brand = LOL LOL
Colin Firth = LOL
So for a LOL moment, try it XD

Charlie Bartlett
(With Robert Downey Jr)
I really liked it.
It could have been boring because it's a lot of "déjà vu" but the main character Charlie is really great.
Charlie is a little rich boy with an excentric mother, no father, who is expelled from his private school. so He began to go the public school. And because he wants to be loved by the other students, he started to play the psychiatrist among them selling medications and advises...
Anyway it really sounds cliché but it's really more than that and finally i enjoyed it a lot.

Heart & souls
Beware cheesy movie !
really really cheesy.
it's about 4 characters who died in a bus accident but had to stay on earth, linked to a little boy, to finish their life.
So... why do you have to watch it ? Because Robert Downey Jr is REALLY REALLY GREAT. I found he acted so good in that movie that I fell more in love with him if it's possible.

Grey's anatomy season 4
I nearly watched all of it and just say that this season is'nt really great...
And I understand why Katherine Heigl refused her award
Even George bored me...
What I liked :
- Cristina : I loved how her character evolves after Burke's departure.
- Callie and her relationship with Dr Hahn
- and McSteamy is still great... I wait for the moment he will tell his love to derek XD

How I met your mother season 1
It was great...
well... it isn't the best show ever but BARNEY IS LOVE.
I mean without him the show would suck.
I like Marshall and Lily too but they couldn't have made it alone.
And I hate Robin... I liked her at the begining but all the drama with Ted bored me a lot... the kind of girl who wants him but no but yes but maybe... ok, let's kill her... (ted is'nt really better but is more pure I think)

I also saw again Wanted and Atonement... so much James love...

tv show, how i met your mother, james mcavoy, rdj lust, grey's anatomy, movie
