Update!

So, I just realized I haven't posted here in a while and you all probably think I'm dead. Some days it feels like I am dead, but I appear to still be breathing and capable of standing upright on occasion. Anyway, recent developments in the Life of Me:

* Our little Panda got "dangerously" married in a lavish event that quite seriously put some silver-screen wedding depictions to shame. Actually, the entire fun-filled week was filled with hilarious hijinks that kept Miko speculating as to whether or not we were secretly being filmed for a romantic comedy! It was awesome fun to see the whole gang for such a happy occasion.

* Accident Guy got a ridiculously generous settlement from the insurance company. This will not affect me, but I'm still pissed. That was insurance fraud, asshole.

* I'm still doomed to part-time pay for an indeterminate amount of time. However, my immediate boss retires at the end of September, which will leave ONLY part-timers running the place, so SOMETHING will have to happen in the next month.

* To supplement my income / get myself on the full-time, non-starving-artist career track, I've taken up freelance work, mostly from oDesk.com. I've snagged three projects thus far, and it's lots of fun! (Even if it does cut into my sleeping time...)

* Interest in the Mysterious Comic Project was high at SDCC. I'm working hard on taking the critiques to heart and bringing it up to par.

* The cosplay gods must have decided to bring me back to the flock, because my burnout has finally eased to the point that I am sewing again. It's something (relatively) simple and silly that I just wanted to make for the hell of wearing it to AWA; to prevent a burnout-relapse I'm saving my return to overly-complicated group ventures for next season.

* I'm still mildly miffed that I can't attend Dragon*Con this year, but at least Michael is coming to my cousin's wedding with me. It will be so much better to sit back and watch the show with him. I say "show" because this wedding promises to be a lavish affair--8 bridesmaids!--and because of...interesting...dynamics between extended family members who will be present. Popcorn might be required. Or Tasers. I love the bride and groom, so I sincerely hope nothing Springer-worthy happens.

* Michael and I are quite happy together. It's nice to have the right someone around. ^_^
