Home sick. Internet. Fandomsecrets.
I am not really sick. I don't know what's wrong with me but I have this cough that has been going since late yesterday afternoon and won't stop. It's a dry cough. My throat is scratchy, but from coughing! It feels fine otherwise! I have no idea what is up. I left the lab because:
1. I have some kind of social anxiety issue where if I am coughing or sneezing more than once or twice in a day, I get really concerned that I am annoying the people around me, even though when other people do this I almost never notice, and so when I am surrounded by other people, particularly in a crowded room, and I have to cough or sneeze or blow my nose or whatever, I start to have an uncontrollable urge to do so... I have been sitting at home alone for several hours now and have coughed maybe 15 times in the last hour..... when I was in the lab this morning I literally had to leave the room three times because I was coughing so hard.
2. Everyone around me kept saying "SWINE FLU SWINE FLU SWINE FLU" in a joking way but I didn't want to freak them out so I left.
So here I am on the internet. I really should have been doing some work at home but... somehow the internet called to me (somehow, haha, my addiction continues. It's been what, almost 13 years now?). And I am being spectacularly unproductive in the realm of work right now anyway.
Anyway, somehow I got onto the lj community "Fandom secrets" which is like postsecrets but better because it is about fandom. Then I went ahead and made two of my own. One of them relates to my undying love for Luke Skywalker in the face of every other person on earth loving Han, the "Nooo" screaming scene, the haircuts, etc. and the other one is more secret. Yeah, this is what I've been doing this morning/afternoon.
Anyway, this community rulez.
