Iron Man 3
So I got to go see Iron Man 3 today.
I think I’ll have to see it again before I quite know how I feel about it. I definitely enjoyed it but I’m not entirely sure I liked it. Or maybe I liked it but am not sure how much I enjoyed it, it’s somewhere on that line.
Then again, I had a mixed reaction to IM2 the first time I saw it and I’ve since decided I love it, and I think my opinion of IM1 actually isn’t as high as it was at first (still quite good though).
I’m amazed by how many of the trailer shots were from late in the movie, like during the wrap up.
As usual the highlight of the movie is Tony; I do wish they’d given Pepper more to do, but it’s hard to deny that these are Tony’s movies. Some of his issues still felt a little unresolved in the end, more like he just walked away from what was bothering him than dealing with it but...that’s not a bad was to leave things. It rounds things out in its way, but I’m not sure it resolves much.
If I had to guess, there won’t be any more Iron Man movies before the next Avengers one, then maybe - if they can work out things - we’ll get something like Iron Man Returns/Reborn. This doesn’t really feel like the end, but it definitely *could* ne the end if it ends up being it. In some ways I get that maybe they should end before it goes downhill, but I don’t really want it to be the end because I love these movies.
I suspect I will ultimately decide that I like and enjoy this, but so far I still haven’t made up my mind about it much.
