Gisbornes and Lannisters, oh my

Okay, so I've been poking at doing a RH and ASOIAF meta for a while thinking in terms of Guy's increasing shades of Jaime, how much more awesome the show would have been if Robin had had any shades of Jaime and suddenly today it hit my that Isabella is also turning into the Cercei of the story.

After last week the ways Guy's redemption arc paralleled Jaime's already struck me (I'd almost resigned myself to think it was going to be a 'Jaime is who both Guy and Robin could have been if the series had balls' type approach and them WHAM we got textual Guy on redemption path and it was awesome, just like Jaime). And Guy didn't have to loose a hand or get less pretty to do it (unless you count the Crazy Locks of Grief as a bad point, which I actually kind of like). Just you know, the deaths of two awesome women by or because of him.

But the Cercei and Izzy similarities didn't occur to me until now, partly because I like Isabella a lot more than Cercei, and Cercei's defining traits of being a) crazy and b) willing to have incest bastards were more of less absent from Isabella. Now that she's shown a few more shades of crazy and has had a little bit of time to stretch her political limbs (at which I think she is much less stupid than Cercei) the comparison strikes me.
