here is my problem for today (and probably several days to come):
i had a postdoc interview at harvard (children's hospital) which went great. i liked the professor, i liked the project, i liked the fact that it's 15 minutes away from my house. the professor sent me an official offer letter yesterday so it's practically a done deal.
however, a day before i got this official letter, i got two emails, one from columbia med and one from albert einstein (both nyc), asking me for an interview. ARGH. the columbia med one is really cool because the project is about melanoma, basically trying to figure out which genes are responsible for a certain type of melanoma. i already had five moles removed (for being melanoma suspects, but were not in the end, phew) so this would be a very personal project for me. something i could totally get into. however, it would mean moving to nyc (which i suppose is not such a big deal).
i have not talked to the albert einstein guy yet.
so, being the safe playing person that i am, i will most likely accept the harvard position. BUT, would it be really terrible if i went down to nyc for an interview knowing i would not be able to accept the job?
