All right this is the actual review and recap of the show. Try to remember my disclaimer from before when reading this.
Ok, so traffic was awful and we didn't actually get to our seats until about 6:57, but that's ok because our seats rocked! Sheri kept telling me how awesome I had done in getting these seats. We even had leg room, but it wasn't like we were going to be sitting anyway. lol
Well they kept showing random stuff on the screen and everytime they showed Adam all the girls were screaming soooo loudly. It was getting annoying. Screaming for him on stage is one thing, but just a picture of him on the screen is a little too much. The guy next to us felt the same way. He leaned over to Sheri and said "I'm sick of them screaming for Adam. I'm going to scream for Anoop to counteract them." This of course made me happy because I planned to scream for Anoop loudly too.
Here is a picture of us before the show.
Ok so the show began and Michael killed it. he had the crowd on their feet with "I'm In Love With A Girl". I know everybody says this but he sounded soooo much better than his time on the show. I actually enjoyed listening to him. But his next song "Closer" wasn't as good. It wasn't awful like some others, but he keeps trying to reach for something that isn't there. He should just go the country music route. He's got a country music voice and he should just accept it not fight it.
Megan
I thought pink was a fitting color for her name because her whole set exuded pinkness. Her dress was pretty and she is totally gorgeous, but it was all a little too much. Her voice was strong and on key, but something still isn't quite right there. Her first song "Put Your Records On" was good and even better than on the show, but her Amy Winehouse cover was kinda blah. For one no one seemed to know the song and the background on the screen was sooooooooooo annoying and distracting. Overall I guess it could have been worse. She could have sang 3 songs. lol
Scott probably surprised me the most. His voice was strong, and he actually had some stage presence and some hilarious banter. He talked about Ryan and Simon and the crowd was roaring with laughter. "A Thousand Miles" was really good and he can play the piano like no one's business. Overall it was pretty good. Sheri did point out that we may have found the new "John Tesh" and I addd that he could tour with Yanni and Josh Groban. :)
Lil
Once again Lil under performed for me. She has never been as good as her audition. It wasn't for lack of effort though. She moved around that stage with so much energy. She seems like she loves performing and it shows. I just wasn't into her set at all. It's like she is trying to sing like Beyonce and Alicia, but she just doesn't have the chops.
Ok I do have better pictures of Lil, but this is the one Sheri took. We call it "Exploding Lil". It's a tribute to our exploding Chikezie pics from last year. It's stupid...I know. lol
ANOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!
I have always liked Anoop. From his audition on I have found him interesting and funny. His voice isn't always on, but when it's on it's really on. He was really good. "Always on my Mind" was beautiful and even better than on the show if possible. "Mad" was ok, but it didn't really fit his voice that well. But of course "My Perogative" rocked! I warned Sheri about the gyrating and thrusting before hand so she could be prepared for the silliness. The crowd was loving it. Even the glambert loving girls next to us. The didn't seem to like anyone up to that point. So it was nice to see Anoop getting some love! And yes the guy that I mentioned before was cheering for Anoop loudly!
Ok once again I have to split this into 2 parts. I swear that the next part will be the last. It will include my faves Kris and Allison as well as my new fave Matt Giraud!!!!!!!
