Hey everyone!
Thanks for joining this year's exchange, I hope you had fun!
I'm going to honestly say that for me, this was a lot more work than it was fun. A lot of you have been angels to talk to, and you really made this worth it all. Like, really, thank you.
However, a few of you have been disappointed with me, a few very angry and a few have been

I’m happy you enjoyed the exchange, and that you managed to do something great with your signup :3
About the future-discussion:
I also think the problem is finding the writers, because personally, I feel like when lj was abandoned, people just disappeared.
I don’t know if a lot of writers quit writing, or if they found some other website to hang out on. I only know of ao3 as an active platform for JE writers, but I feel like JE fic in general is slowly dying? D:
It’s just my personal impression, but I think that’s sad and it would be great to host something like this exchange as a reason for people to keep writing? (My own main reason to write exchanges is giving my writing a purpose and making sure I actually produce something)
But this is only me so I’m happy to hear other opinions, and hopefully we’ll find a good solution for this exchange next year :)

I think the same, and the fact that a lot of social media appeared after that isn't helping to "gather" people sharing the same fandom.
For both fanfics and fanarts, people are now spread in different platforms going from Twitter to Tumblr, to Ao3 and so on. dunno if JE fic are slowly dying, sure is that in chinese/japanese language they keep flourishing, but in english it's tough indeed.

Definitely, that's also like that!
So I'm keeping fingers crossed ^O^
Oh, and, can we now share the fanfics we wrote :O?

Right now, it looks like we’ll probably try AO3 next time and see if it works out better :)
Yes definitely, feel free to repost wherever you want!!

Hi!!
Thank you for making this possible for all of us. I'm happy that i can join in this year fix exchange.
I'm sorry I'm not giving my best this year. I promise i will do better in next term.
I dont think you should be changed because you already do a great work as a moderator.
For having more and more participant have you thought about hosting it also in wattpad or another story platform? I feel like many people start gradually leaving lj too but many of them stay.

I don’t know if any JE writers are on wattpad? I’ve personally never used it so I’m not too familiar with it myself

I also think that ao3 might be the best option. I’ve participated in exchanges over there and the amount of feedback is massive compared to lj, and feedback makes everyone happy after all. Lj is so secluded right now and there’s no fun writing where nobody will read it, and no new writers are going to make accounts in order to join :(
For this year, we tried to promote as much as possible on different platforms, but I personally feel like we mainly reached those who’d already written the exchange before, with a few exceptions. So I guess we’ll somehow have to try and find the newer writers or those who don’t usually do exchanges next time? Discord is a good tip, I didn’t know about those!
The mid-season ficlet idea is actually very good I think. We’ll see if it’s something that’s manageable this year if we decide to actually move, but it’s definitely a great idea to consider for the future!

And don’t worry, you’re the grayest on my black list for next year orz
As for the exchange, I feel the same about it being pretty much the only multigroup exchange left and it would be a shame if it died down. At the same time, the amount of sign-ups this year was really depressing, so there definitely has to be some kind of change.
I’m guessing ao3 is the best shot at finding people who still write, and reaching a wider audience once the fics are posted, so I’d say that right now, that’s probably what’s going to happen.
This kind of exchange really only works when more people participate after all :/

Thank you for making this exchange possible! Because of these I keep writing fics, and this one in particular got me back into it. I've never had any problem with the exchange or the mods, any problems I have are always because of me. I've always thought the mods have done a great job! Nothing seemed different this year than previous ones.
I just started using AO3 lately and it does seem to be more active. I love doing these fic exchanges and would be really sad to see it go because they are fun to do. I do hope this one continues, no matter where it is.
Again, thank you for making this exchange happen!
