Hey everyone!
Thanks for joining this year's exchange, I hope you had fun!
I'm going to honestly say that for me, this was a lot more work than it was fun. A lot of you have been angels to talk to, and you really made this worth it all. Like, really, thank you.
However, a few of you have been disappointed with me, a few very angry and a few have been

As for going forward - I would completely understand if I were banned from the exchange for being late, but either way, I definitely don’t want this exchange to end! So many of the other big Johnnys exchanges have disappeared already and it’s such a shame because, as stressful as they are, I think exchanges are one of the most rewarding parts of being a fanfic writer - aside from getting an awesome fic tailor made to my tastes, writing specifically for someone else encourages me to try new things and actually finish what I start! I think je-united might even be the last multi-group Johnnys exchange still running so I definitely don’t want to lose it!
I’d be fine with things staying as they are if that’s what the majority decides, but I think it would be better trying to change things up. If you’re happy to keep going then I don’t think a change in moderator is needed but a jump to AO3 might help? LJ is definitely starting to feel a bit like a ghost town, whether that’s a reflection on LJ or on fandom in general I’m not sure but AO3 definitely feels slightly more alive in terms of fanfic at least. And as ladyc2 pointed out, on LJ only people who know about the comm/exchange are likely to read/comment, but on AO3 the exchange fics will be easy to find even if you don’t know about je-united so there will be more people reading/commenting, and it might help more people discover the exchange and boost numbers next time?

And don’t worry, you’re the grayest on my black list for next year orz
As for the exchange, I feel the same about it being pretty much the only multigroup exchange left and it would be a shame if it died down. At the same time, the amount of sign-ups this year was really depressing, so there definitely has to be some kind of change.
I’m guessing ao3 is the best shot at finding people who still write, and reaching a wider audience once the fics are posted, so I’d say that right now, that’s probably what’s going to happen.
This kind of exchange really only works when more people participate after all :/
