rating: PG-13 (mild language)

summary: Take chances, they might turn out well, even if those chances are in the form of a small green slimy and all around gross amphibian.

Jaejoong stormed into the castles garden, plopping down on a stone bench facing the grand fountain. He tore off the crystal tiara his mother had mad him wear and threw it into the clear, rippling water.
"Humanity is stupid." He groaned, working his fingers into his temple to fight away the growing headache.

His mother, the Queen, had just put him through another failed attempt at finding him a suitable mate. Jaejoong loved his mother, don't get him wrong. Ever since he came out of the closet to her and she in turn concocted a plan to have Jaejoong cross dressing as a princess to try to find a guy he loved her, really. But the plan never seemed to work.

Either utter disaster would break out or Jaejoong would be to shy around the dashingly handsome prince his mother had chosen.

After the forth failed try Jaejoong had given up, but his mother kept pushing it. Now it's to the point Jaejoong wished he had never told his mother he was gay at all.

"Why can't my perfect prince charming just pop up from this fucking fountain and save me from my crazy mother!" He whined to the stone sculpture of cupid as he shot water from his finger.

"Did you say prince charming?" a voice called form the water.

Jaejoong gasped and jumped. He hadn't expected anyone to answer him. "Who-," the young boy stuttered, "Who's there?"

Suddenly, The water started splashing next to the edge of the fountain and a small green blob jumped out of the water. Jaejoong couldn't help but gasp again as he watched the thing stand up straight and smile at him.

"It was I, fair princess!" The little green frog exclaimed. "I heard you were having prince troubles!"

Jaejoong rose his eyebrow. "Well, yeah. But I doubt you can help, and I'm not a princess."

The frog crossed his arms over his yellow chest and cocked his head to the side. "Then what are you doing in a dress?"

"It's none of your business!" Jaejoong snapped at the creature.

The frog nodded but didn't lose his curious stance. "I can still help you with your search for the 'perfect prince charming'." He smirked.

Jaejoong couldn't help but give a small chuckle. "How could you, a little frog, possibly help me find true love." Jaejoong slightly leaned in to poke at the frog's round belly. "Don't tell me your my fairy-god-frog?"

The frog steeped back from Jaejoong's playful fingers, a look of pure dramatic hurt on his green face. "I don't even know what a fairy-god-frog is?" He pouted.

"Then how are you going to help me?" Jaejoong insisted.

The frog again picked himself up, he smirked and thrusted his chest out. "All you have to do is kiss me!"

Jaejoong's eyes grew as wide a saucers. "Kiss you?" He asked, quiet laughter behind the words. "Why kind of a princess do you think I am?"

The frog rolled his eyes. "I thought you said you weren't a princess?" He grumbled and jumped on to Jaejoong's lap. He stood back up on his hind legs and crossed his arms again. "Just listen to me." He said. "If you kiss me, I will turn into your true love, a dashing, handsome, sport-playing, lovable, prince charming that will love you to the end of his wonderful life." When Jaejoong's skepticism didn't waver the frog rolled his eyes again. "Or would you rather go back to your insane mother and accidentally set another boys hair on fire?"

Jaejoong's cheeks dusted pink as he turned away from the frog. "What are you a stalker?" He asked.

"I hold temporarily residence in your fountain." The frog dead panned. "But that's besides the point, the point is that you need to kiss me!"

Jaejoong puffed out his cheeks. When he thought about it, no harm could come from giving the little guy a peck. The garden was completely empty other then them and if the frog was telling the truth, well then Jaejoong would just have a lot to gain.

"You better be one hot prince," Jaejoong whispered as he picked up the frog. He hesitated for a second as he looked at the excited green frog's face before quickly going down for a kiss. Just a small peck, not even closing his eyes.

When they pulled away, nothing happened.

"Do it again." The frog said.

Jaejoong pouted "Really?"

"Don't you want your prince?" Jaejoong sighed but nodded. The frog nodded too as they readied themselves for the second kiss. "Make this one real." The frog ordered. "Like actually kiss me like you love me."

Jaejoong nodded again. He leaned in to the frog's face, his bugging eyes already closed so Jaejoong closed his too.

In Jaejoong's mind he pictured the perfect guy; tall, strong, handsome, long flowing chestnut hair, and a little beauty mark on his face. With these things in mind the frog's slimy rough thin lips faded into soft plump warm human lips. It was a figment of his imagination, but it felt so good, and so real.

Especially when the soft plump warm human lips moved back against his.

Jaejoong snapped his eyes open not to see the warty eyebrow of a frog, but the soft forehead and closed eyes of another man. Jaejoong quickly pulled back from the kiss. The other man's eyes opened and he too leaned back.

"W- what?" Jaejoong stuttered as the looked the dashing stranger up and down.

"So you truly didn't believe me, after all?" The man chuckled as he rose off his knees. His voice was that of the frog's but much more deeper, and much more alluring.

"My name is Jung Yunho of Northwood, a town that would of been not far from here. I was a lord, but after the town was pillaged I was turned into a frog by an evil sorceress in an attempt to take my riches."

Jaejoong's mind flashed with the images of his father telling him about the devastation of the attack on Northwood, and the massacre of it's people. "But that was years ago?" He whispered.

"It was," The young prince said, smiling when the shorter male remembered his town. "I just recently figured out the only way to break the wretched curse was to find my true loves kiss. And even more recently did I figure out that was you, a year ago from today precisely."

"How cliché." Jaejoong laughed.

The other man laughed along with him. "I'm afraid so."

The two's laughter filled the soundless garden until the prince's amusement died down and he took the shorter man's thin chin in his hand.

"You are beautiful." He admired, making the other blush. "No wonder why you were wearing a dress."

Jaejoong clicked his tongue in annoyance as he looked away. "You more annoying now then you were as a frog." He muttered.

Yunho smiled, turning Jaejoong back to face him. "But your blushing?" He smirked.

The boy opened his mouth to protest but found his words caught in his throat, so instead he pulled Yunho down by the collar to kiss him, for a third, and hopefully not the last, time.
