Title: Hidden
Unit for Points: Kinki Kids
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Tsuyoshi and Kouichi
Author's Notes: Fluff.

The heat can still be felt radiating off the pavements in waves as Kouichi makes his way home. In his hand he holds the handles of a bag so tightly that he can feel the plastic straps digging into his skin, marking him. It doesn’t matter though because he knows better than most how quickly marks can fade.

A small smile on his lips, his eyes hidden by a rumpled old hat that he can’t bring himself to part with, he makes his way to an apartment he knows as well as his own.

Their most carefully kept summer secret.

Title: Closer
Unit for Points: KinKi Kids
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Tsuyoshi and Kouichi
Author's Notes: Kind of porny.

It’s so easy to forget winter’s death and spring’s rebirth when summer comes around. The door is carefully locked behind them, their clothing littering the floor on the way to the bedroom. Like the movies, except it’s all too real. Tsuyoshi’s calloused fingers slide over his partner’s smooth back, drawing him closer until their lips meet.

What begins chaste never stays that way as they roll around on sweat dampened sheets, emboldened by just how little time they have. Kouichi’s fingers curl around Tsuyoshi’s length and he grins impishly even as Tsuyoshi gasps. Sweat-drenched, laughing, they press against each other.

Title: A Long Road
Unit for Points: KinKi Kids
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Tsuyoshi and Kouichi
Author's Notes: Vagueness

“Do you remember when we were younger?”

An innocuous question that Kouichi only answers with a nod, turning his head to look at his partner curiously. Sometimes Tsuyoshi gets lost in his own little world that only time can force him to return from. Their fingers are sticky, drenched in fruit juice from quickly melting popsicles and when Tsuyoshi doesn’t immediately continue, Kouichi goes back to eating as if nothing had been said at all.

They’ve come a long way since summer concerts and running around half-naked on the beach.

“Did you ever think we’d end up here?”

“Yeah.”

Always.

Title: Sacrifices
Unit for Points: KinKi Kids
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Kouichi and Pan
Author's Notes: Depressing Topics

Kouichi’s personal sacrifice for Japan is not using his air conditioning. Even when the sweat slicks his hair to his forehead, even when Pan lies in a daze on the floor from the temperature in his apartment, he still doesn’t touch that dial. There are windows that can be opened, paper fans to be used.

Night is the best time for him now. When the streets are cooler and he nurses a glass of cold beer, lazily smoking a cigarette. Days are filled with charity events, photoshoots and television tapings.

They overflow with sweat and unspoken concerns for the future.

Title: Careless Whispers
Unit for Points: KinKi Kids
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Tsuyoshi and Kouichi
Author's Notes: Depressing Topics

The smog is always intolerable around this time, but this year there’s a new fear that is whispered of in the streets. Kouichi ignores the concerns of his staff, not because he doesn’t care, but because there’s nothing he can do to ease them. When the air gets too hot or the skies open up to drench the city in rain, the fear tinged murmurs begin.

It follows Kouichi home, echoing in his ears long after it should have faded away into nothing. He hears it in each drop of rain against his window, knows Tsuyoshi hears it too.

Radiation.

Title: Labels
Unit for Points: KinKi Kids
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Tsuyoshi and Kouichi
Author's Notes: Fluff!

Summer flings are called that because they end when the season does, but Kouichi has never cared much for rules. “We can’t call it that,” Tsuyoshi tries to explain for the umpteenth time, only giving up when Kouichi digs his heels in and announces that he’s going to call their relationship that anyway.

Tsuyoshi knows his partner well enough to pick his battles carefully. There’s no sense in arguing about something so small, but every time they talk about their relationship, Tsuyoshi can’t help smiling at the label Kouichi insists upon.

Who’s ever heard of a ten year summer fling?

Title: Conflicting Memories
Unit for Points: KinKi Kids
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Tsuyoshi and Kouichi
Author's Notes: Based on their summer concerts during a tsunami

There’s a tsunami in Yokohama and still they’re on stage, covering their microphones with towels and not dancing in case they slip. Kouichi makes a joke that can barely be heard over the pounding rain. Tsuyoshi can still remember that summer tour that had been their last, the way Kouichi had joked until it had become a joke. Standing in front of thousands of people and trying to talk with towels over their heads. Sliding around a stage that was too dangerous to walk quickly on.

Tsuyoshi can still remember the torrential rain, his bitter fear and Kouichi’s bright smile.

Title: Idiocy
Unit for Points: KinKi Kids
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Tsuyoshi and Kouichi
Author's Notes: Fluff?

Whoever says that they think Kouichi is an idiot obviously never spent much time around him. From the very beginning, Tsuyoshi had known his partner was an idiot, but in ways one wouldn’t expect. Kouichi’s a solemn child who runs around in an adult body, understanding some things completely while never being able to wrap his mind around others.

Love is a mystery to Kouichi, Tsuyoshi knows, but that still doesn’t stop him from trying to explain it with analogies that only grow stranger with time.

“Water and thirst,” as they sit in a boiling hot car. “July and heat.”
