Fanfiction Favorites

A while back it occurred to me that I couldn't let a story's lack of existence on FFN stop me from favoriting it. Thus was born this list, which I'm posting here both because I enjoy sharing things I love with others and because I have a constant fear that my laptop will spontaneously combust and I'll lose everything.

Ratings on these vary from squeaky clean to hardcore sexitimes. So be prepared.

Buffy-verse:
(basically all of these are gonna be Angel/Cordelia)
How to Break Up A Tuesday Afternoon - This is based off one of my favorite lines from season 1 of Angel. I would quote the line here but not knowing it makes the end so much funnier.

In the Company of Wolves - Set during BtVS early season 2. Cordelia should know better than to be out alone late at night.

Open Invitation - Not knowing Angel's lost his soul, Cordelia invites him into her home. BtVS season 2.

Shadow of the Beast - A Cordy/Angel retelling of Beauty and the Beast.

The Distance Between Two Bodies - (From the Author's Note:) I have always wondered at the odd little interaction between Angel and Cordelia during 'Expecting' when Serena reveals that Cordy's been dating- and Angel wants to know why she hadn't told him. Yeah, that scene, the one where they're whispering and he has the funny little half-sick smile on his face? And she kinda beds that guy tentatively and then she just wants to wake up? Yeah. Here's the reason why.

You Promised - Cordelia made a promise once.

Batman:
Cat Tales - The Catwoman/Batman story the world has been waiting for. Okay, not really, because it's been around for a while, but I only just started reading it. After book 1, I'm convinced that this is pure magic. Seriously. It's like Of Love and Bunnies in Gotham.

Community:
Applied Phlebtonium 101 - As one of my friends told me when she recced this: "Someone has written an Abed/Annie in which Abed is Batman and Annie is Catwoman."

Fundamentals of Chemistry - "What's up with Annie lately?" Troy asks. It's been on his mind for a few days now, this something-different-about-Annie, and it seems worth the risk of asking the group as a whole.

Get It Down On Paper - The aftermath of the season 1 finale.

no use wishing for any other sin - Post season 1 finale, Pierce's wedding, Jeff/Britta. (There's really no other way to summarize, it's just too random and amazing.)

Personal Income Tax 101 - Uncle Sam wants YOU; the methods of evasion are strictly limited: also known as, the one where Jeff and Britta get married to save themselves from the law. (One of the Best Fics Ever! Seriously.)

Crossovers:
A Reporter and a Tardis - Doctor Who/Smallville Just what it says on the tin. Oh, except the reporter is blonde. Doctor's not about to mess with Superman's woman.

You Can't Take the Sky From Me ( 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 11) - Avatar: TLA/Firefly(Serenity) The Gaang find themselves in an unfamiliar place, with unfamiliar technology, and have to rely on the only kindness they can find.  Unfortunately, kindness seems to be an endangered creature in this new place.

Doctor Who:
Amor Mundi - Rose goes for pizza and runs into an old “friend” of the Doctor’s.

A Kind of Grace - On the outside looking in as a loudmouthed ginger in a white gown dances with her new groom, his thoughts stray towards Rose Tyler-and he lets them.

Firefly
Simply Perfectest - My love, though silly, is more brave.

Harry Potter:
All My Friends Are Dead - [from a promptfest] Molly Weasley - The First War - her children are born as her friends die

Leverage:
Fairy Tale - This one doesn't actually have a title, but it doesn't need one. Parker/Hardison through a specific lens.

The Game - In which Parker is angry and talks about stealing penguins and buildings on skis and Hardison tries to follow her train of thought.

Miscellaneous:
Half in Love With Easeful Death (Part 1 | Part 2) - A retelling of the myth of Hades and Persephone. [Not really a fanfic but I love it so much that I had to include it.]

Star Trek:
The Cave - Spock and Christine are trapped in a cave-in and running out of air.  Only a mind meld can save them until help arrives.

Christine’s Plea - Following Platonius, Spock stumbles upon Christine in the ship's chapel ...

Logic Demands That You Take Off That Ridiculous Hat - When people ask how he met his wife, he says they exchanged cultural information at a diplomatic event. He does not mention that she beat him at logic (twice), or that afterward, they took off their clothes.

Mirror Chapel - Christine Chapel played some dangerous games in order to survive.  But none were as dangerous as the one she was playing with Spock.

The Vampire Diaries
Steady as it Goes - Caroline leaves Mystic Falls with the Salvatore brothers and together the three of them become a special kind of family.
