Have i said recently just how much i hate Microsoft and their abortion of an operating system (pick all). I have a real stinky feeling I picked up some malware from LJ. from exactly where I'm not sure -I do not utilize any of the click-thru ads, or anything like that ( Read more... )

I'd love to figure out where. I really do try to be safe, especially on a PC vs my Mac... From what I saw, this malware is pretty new -out in the wild since early January, which is probably why my anti-virus/anti-malware s/w didn't even see it. Unfortunately, the anti viral/anti malware folks are always reactive, rather than proactive.. always behind the curve, and not much can be done about that. I know, especially from my and our desktop support folks that these things are getting very sophisticated. This one that I was battling, would disable one of the most popular malware programs when you tried to launch it. The evidence regarding LJ is very circumstantial, and very thin.
Nonetheless, I'm going to look at LJ from my Mac for a while. Oh, well..
