Graduation Post-Mortem:

I feel different. Not especially spectacular, not depressed, just different. Satisfied comes close, but not exactly. I'm done, it's official "subject to final certification of satisfactory completion of your program requirements". But that's just what it says on my fake diploma with no name on it. It's not like I've really got anything to be worried about; they're not going to take it away, and even if I get the lowest grade possible in 705, it won't drop my GPA by any significant decimal. I know I'm getting a B- in Instrumental, a B in Creative Non-Fiction (despite my 4 absences and 3 missing assignments) and anything less than an A in Seminar would be an insult. The only unknown is 705.

The ceremony itself was fine. Getting to the line at 930 pretty much guarantees that you get a front-row seat, and I would have, if that Chris from Sackett kid hadn't been there first and all his Physics major friends had slid in front of me. Although it did increase the number of people between myself and the collosal prick, so it's not all bad. The department had outright terrible attendance from faculty, a whopping 3 professors showed up. Dr. Miller, my advisor, was not one of them. Terrible. Joanna and Hahna were there though, which was nice. I feel like such a heel that I don't talk to them often. Lisa was in Cincinnatti, Mark graduated from med.school the same day, but we did talk a few times during the day.

Lunch at Muddy's was awesome, though it took close to an hour to drive the 15 miles from Durham to Portsmouth. The place was packed, so it took a while for our lunch to arrive, but our waitress brought out 2 free apps while we waited, which was totally unexpected. We weren't mad, or about to throw a fit (like some customers did), it was just nice.

Jenn got me 4 JTHM comics, which is thoroughly unexpected and appreciated, thank you. The best part is that the collector's book is still missing, so the timing of this gift is exceptional. Along with some embarassing photos that will not be shared. And Mariel apparently perused my amazon wish list, so I could theoretically discover what she got before it arrives, but that would just ruin the surprise. Mom and Dad also want to take me shopping for professional-type clothes for next year. They haven't taken me clothes shopping for school since I was 14. This is kind of funny. But again, very appreciated since my source of income for next year is still unknown.

I just gave in and ordered the other 3 comics in the JTHM series. I'm so weak.
