Still watching "Hell on Wheels". The characters motivations frequently make no sense at all, but at least they killed off the by-far most annoying character in the show.

Watched some more "Hell on Wheels". Second season got dark fast.

Tried watching ep 1 of "Hell on Wheels", which my dad recommended. It has a vaguely Deadwood feel, although the dialogue doesn't obviously sparkle quite as much yet. Interesting enough to give it another couple of epsisodes of benefit-of-the-doubt though.

Watched the first couple episodes of "Halt and Catch Fire". Completely ludicrous, but still decently entertaining.

Somewhat farther into "Stranger Things" now. I think I kind of like it as a lighter, fluffier entry in the X-Files-y/Fringe-y niche of evil guvmint labs cookin' up creepy-crawly alternate universes and whatnot. Some of the dialogue is pretty cringe-worthy, but the overall plotting is goes-down-easy fun.

Peaky Blinders Season 2 season finale WHAAAAAT NOOOO WHAAAAT WOOOOOW. Good show so far, albeit occasionally bloody. Recommend.

Finished off season 3 of Bojack Horseman. Many good jokes, ("what's Updike?") much nihilistic emotional wreckage, A+++ would watch again.

Finished off Season 2 of the Americans. Super intense!

Watched some more of The Americans; it's getting really dark, and at the same time, remaining kind of silly. I think I like it, nonetheless. The overwrought anti-religiousness of the parents reacting to their daughter donating money to a church seems weirdly humorous to me, even as irreligious as I am.
