Talked to the landlord and it seemed briefly that it might be possible to take the third floor apartment in our building instead of the second; we had eyed 3fl initially, (pros: no exposed brick, less ceiling tromping noise because top floor) but someone else had rented it --- then decided that they wanted to move down to the duplex on 1fl/basement to get more space. But now, again, someone snuck in and put a deposit on 3fl. Boo. At least it means we don't need to move all our stuff again.
