Most of us have spent sooo much time together over the past few years. It is sad that in about 6 months we will be dispersing. I was wondering, what you are all planning on doing

Jennie, I had no idea you were interested in on a military base. That was interesting to read about. When I am finished with school I am moving out of Eugene. I am not sure to where yet. My boyfriend's job is relocating over to Bend in June and we decided that if I can find a teaching job there, we would move there. I figure it would be fun to live there. I am going to have to buy lots of warm clothes for the winter though. It is alreay snowing over there a ton. I think that is what I am planning on doing, but if we do not move there, then we will still be somewhere in Oregon probably.
I love traveling too. I went to England and Italy last summer. It was a blast. I love every time I get to see my family over there. There just seems like there is so much more to do. Don't be scared. Sadly, every other country speaks English. Which brings me to the point of why Americans only speak English. Other countries learn at least three languages in schools.
We'll see...

It will be so strange to embark into teaching without the comfortable surroundings of our fellow cohort. I still don't know exactly where I will be teaching, until now I have been saying that I will go wherever there is a job. However, I do have some limits! Most likely it will be either in Portland, where my friends will be, or at home in San Jose, where my family is. There are pros and cons for both places, so it could still end up to be whichever place has the better job offer. I do know that wherever it is, it will be a bigger city. Eugene has been great for college, but I am ready to explore new places and opportunities. I am also curious to know where the rest of us will be going.

Jennie as you know I was thinking about possibly doing the whole department of defence thing too. I love being overseas and traveling around. It is such a great thing to do! I understand about it being scary because I went over to Belgium without knowing anyone, and it turned out great. There are always a lot of people our age on US bases because of the age in which most join the military system. My plans have kind of changed though from lst year. I am planning on staying in Eugene because of Matt now. I know that I do not have to, but since we have talked about getting married in a couple of years, that is what I want to do. I do not think that I could be away from him for a year. So I will be trying to get a full time teaching job in Eugene, wish me luck. I would go to the outskits like bethel cottage graove if I needed to in order to get a job, but would like to stay within lane county, and more specifically the 4j district. I am not sure how this will work out because the job market is quite tight down here for teachers

I guess I'll comment on this even though I'm not in your cohort. When I grow up (I mean graduate) I want to... Get a job. Well I actually already have a job. As a college wrestling coach I make about the same as a starting teacher, but my salary is pretty much stuck where it is. I am trying to buy a house in Eugene right now, but I hope to use that as a rental a few years down the road. I enjoy the college coaching, but it is a very demanding job. I have to travel a lot. Almost too much, but for now its not too bad. It would be really difficult if I wanted to have a family. Eventually I will become a high school biology teacher and coach. Jeremy
