Mini Vacation

Fletcher and I had a lovely time in the Smokies with Becky and her family (her mom, two aunts, six first cousins, the 18 year old son of one of them, the 20 month old grandson of another, her niece, and her two children). Fletcher was wonderfully behaved. I couldn't have asked for him to have been any better. The older ladies even commented on how good he was! Becky's kids were great, too! And they all played together and shared really well. It was awesome. There was a baby - 20 months, Kenton - so Fletcher loved that. When people asked him what he did on his trip, the first thing he mentioned was, "I played with the baby." Babies tend to love him, too. He quickly became Kenton's hero.

I was feeling much better by Saturday. Not back to normal, but much better.

Photos this way:
So, I was lazy and didn't even take my big cam out of its bag. (I still have photos to edit from Myrtle Beach and I am really bad about not wanting to take new pics before I process the old ones.)

This was our bedroom:

The cabin had seven bedrooms and each bedroom had its own bathroom, which was really nice. It accommodated our group of 17 very well! We had a few little problems, but they were fixed immediately when we reported them to the management office.

We shared this pool with two other cabins (a two bedroom and a five bedroom), but whenever we came out to get in, they would get out and leave. *shrugs* We're friendly people! The pool itself was clean enough, but the deck was kind of gross. It needed a good power wash.

There was a really nice covered deck area between our cabin and the five bedroom, adjacent to the pool. There were four or five picnic tables and two enormous gas grills. This is one of them:

Hot tub

There was a huge porch like this on all three levels.

This was one of our "Good morning, Daddy!" texted photos:

Becky cooked a huge breakfast:

Fletcher's other favorite thing - "Hey! There are balls down there! Can I go down and play with the balls?!"

This was in the basement recreation area. There was the pool table and a big screen, projection TV to the left of it and two large couches. Sadly, the TV didn't work well. That is one thing that really needs to be upgraded in that cabin. However, we only paid $500 a night for a seven bedroom cabin, so we were okay with it. ;)

We went to the Nascar SpeedPark on Thursday. Fletcher is in the white car and Becky's Cathryn is in the yellow.

They have a bunch of kiddie rides there, which is what we spent most of our time doing. Cathryn on the far left and Fletcher on the far right.

Look how much bigger than him she is! He's pretty much average sized for his age. Cathryn is seven months older and big for her age.

We were in line for this tiny roller coaster when Fletcher looked over and asked, "Is this gonna have dinosaurs?" Lol! I really traumatized him on Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom.

It was a very short ride, so they sent you around six times. When Fletcher realized we were climbing the hill again, he said, "Again?! It's gonna hurt my bewee (belly) again!" But he loved it. As soon as the ride ended, all the kids wanted to get right back on.

We went to Ripley's Motion Theater. Fletcher was very apprehensive while we waited for our show to start. "Is this a movie? Or a ride? It's not gonna have dinosaurs, is it?!"

He wound up really enjoying it.

This was new since we had visited in November.

We had ridden one just like it in Myrtle Beach and Fletcher loved it, so he was excited to ride one again.

(Becky's Eli is on the right.)

We also went to the Dixie Stampede and Fletcher loved it! He did not eat one bite of any of the food that was served (don't worry, I always take along peanut butter and crackers), but he loved the show. His life's ambition is to be a cowboy and right there in front of him were real-life cowboys!

When we got home, Scott was asleep, so he was not overly helpful getting our luggage in the house. I was a bit irritated by this, but then I discovered that he had been a good house husband while we were gone! He had picked up the house, vacuumed and swept everywhere, cleaned/changed the cat litter, cleaned out the refrigerator (!!) and washed the dishes. It was lovely. (Becky's husband had canned 57 quarts of green beans, so he did well, too!)
