The puppies visited the veterinarian for the first time today

This is what greets me now when I go out to the puppy kennel.  ;D  They're so wiggly and exuberant that it's really, really hard to photograph them.  These were taken February 6 (while it was snowing) and 7.

We have it fixed so that we keep the door open so Zoe can go in and out, but we have the blocks there to keep the puppies in.  (We were really, really worried about the blocks falling on the babies, so Scott tied them together and then wired them to the kennel!)  That won't last much longer, we know.  They've just turned six weeks and I can't believe how big they've grown!

We took the puppies to see Dr. Ward for the first time this evening to have their first vaccinations and dewormings.  We put Sebastian and Sophia in Percy's pet carrier and I held Madeline and Sturdy in a box.  Madeline and Sturdy liked it pretty okay, Sturdy whined a bit.  Sebastian barked A LOT.  Sophia threw up once on the way there and once on the way back, poor baby.  :-(  We let Sophia and Sebastian ride in the box with Madeline on the way home and Ethan held Sturdy.  Everyone was much happier that way, even though Sophia did still get sick again.

Sebastian was a big boy!  He weighed 9 lbs 8oz.

Sophia was bigger than I thought.  She was 7 lbs 11.5oz.  Dr. Ward said she had hernias, but that they would most likely heal on their own.  :-(  If not, he'll have to do surgery.

Sturdy was not quite as sturdy as he looks!  He's so fluffy that he looks bigger than he is, I guess.  He was 6 lbs 15.5 oz.

But Madeline was still the littlest baby at 6 lbs 9 oz.

We love these little puppies and they've been so worth the effort we've put into them!  We have to take them back for another visit in three weeks, then again at 12 weeks and again at 16 weeks.
