What he does is who he is... and so are you

Hi!!! Work totally threw me off last week and then this weekend was super busy. This week I'm working nights so I hope to have some downtime (unfortunately, I spent today trying to fix my desktop ... still not fixed, grr).

House episode 5x14 - The Greater Good

- Ahhhhhh! missed the first 5 minutes.
- Just caught House confronting Cuddy about the elevators. Of course Cuddy would have a nannycam. Hahaha, elevator metaphor. So House now knows it's Cuddy. Bring it on.
- hahaha! Taub: Soooo, you're happy to be here? House: Does it show? How does House know what Foreman did?
- Hahaha! trip wire! Funny how they all give excuses when House looks at them. Also funny how no one takes the wire down; they just step over it. What is House noticing about Thirteen? Oh, peripheral vision loss.
- Cuddy's SEAL training. Hahahaha. "She wants pure unadulterated vengeanace." Wow. House says he's going to get things back to normal by letting Cuddy get it all out her her system and not escalating. Wilson says he's feeling guilty.
- Why are people so baffled that the POTW quit? Personal struggles and professional ones are separate.
- Taub wants kids? Hmmm. She told him on their third date.
- Oh, now Thirteen is freaked out. It's only been 2 weeks? What now? Is she calling it off?
- you can't scratch through your skull with your fingers...
- Yikes, cranky Thirteen.
- Wow, who swiped House's cane?
- Hahahaha! House using the janitor's bucket and mop. Awww, he brought an article saying working moms are good for kids. And Cuddy is so surprised that he isn't retaliating. I think it doesn't make it as fun as she thought it would be.
- Hmmm. House knows it's serious so he blows off the DD and chases after him. I love that he gives good advice when push comes to shove. Funny that he's actually telling Foreman to *be there* for Thirteen. Earlier he said he was happy for Foreman (that he loved Thirteen enough to do something crazy). How does that reflect on how House is viewing Cuddy? Is it reflective of his softer attitude to the baby? Or of the way he's holding back from retaliating?
- Hmm, the Fringe promo looks like something out of the X-Files. Besides the transforming virus, there is the way the whole team holds each other at gunpoint, like in the episode Ice.
- Hahahahaha! Cuddy called as "Mrs. House" and shut off the heat and power. Hahahaha!
- "Ebony and Ivory are joined near the hip."
- Why is Thirteen just sitting at home? "You need radiation, not ritual sacrifice." Nice. Wow. House is really, really trying to make things work out between them. "He only thinks he loves me." "It's the same thing." Wow. House is really pondering love right now.
- Yay! Wilson! That's right, she's being childish as well; she feels guilty that she actually likes working. (of course that's perfectly normal, but Cuddy still needs to live up to her idealized standards) "What he does is who he is... and so are you." Nice, Wilson. Love how he gets right to the heart of the issue here.
- Hahaha. Kutner wondering what's going on. But Taub is "embracing" his ignorance. Hahaha. Kutner really wants to know. He knows that House's non-reaction means it's serious.
- Hmmm. This episode is really all about love and relationships, huh? Wilson admits he's stuck on Amber and he doesn't know how to move on. The worst thing you can do is to do nothing. Interesting.
- "Heart stopped" implies no heartbeat, not no blood pressure (which is what tamponade would do). Ewww, she's bleeding out of everywhere...
- Oh! It's the cane scene! Cuddy twirling his cane!!! "I found it in the coat closet... where I hid it." Awww. Look at her face as she apologizes. House is right back to "normal", haha, implying it's PMS. Oooo, she stops the elevator door! Really, though, his comments are pretty mild for him. But she finally sees that House is not mad; he's just back to "playing the role" he thinks he has to play...
- ewwww. Ectopic endometriosis. It does happen. (of course, this example is far more dramatic than in reality)
- Ok. Thirteen's sight is back. (of course)
- Oh, Foreman is telling the drug company. At least he gets to to keep his license. Oh, I missed that. What did he do in the locker?
- Aww. Taub isn't sure about kids, but he's sure about his wife.
- Fourteen is still on.
- Wilson washing Amber's mug?
- Hey! No Huddy scene??!!!

- hmmm, next week definitely looks dramatic. Perhaps a little too dramatic in terms of the patient. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

- So much to ponder about how this episode reflects on how House perceives his relationships... and love in particular.
- About the cane scene: Cuddy can't really expect a heartfelt, serious conversation here. Sometimes I wonder why Cuddy seems to be so blind to the fact that House has a soft spot for her. I guess she does know it deep down (why else would she bring the baby to him at the end of last week's episode), but she doesn't seem to acknowledge it. Perhaps, it's another example of wanting things to live up to her standards?

Hopefully tonight will be calm... Good night, everyone!
