I work one block away from the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. The Twins open the division series against Oakland in about an hour. The parking lot across the street has a sign charging $25 to park for the game. The Twins are playing a day game at the dome today. This means I should be able to wander up the street and get Famous Dave's barbecue for lunch. If I didn't have a meeting to attend this afternoon, I'd be tempted to cut out and go to the game.

My bus route has a detour for a chunk of time here while they are working on a nearby railroad bridge, so getting to work was a bit of an adventure this morning. The biting wind didn't make it a pleasant adventure, but I got where I needed to go. My sister-in-law stopped by today, as pre-arranged, with my niece and nephew (Alanna and Nathan). Alanna is a painfully shy girl of about eight, I think, who, nonetheless is bright and cheerful.
