So Friday night I decided to paint the spare bedroom. Of course I didn't know WHAT I was getting myself into. You see, a year+ ago it was loretta's little computer room. She had painted it an odd shade of purple, and moved all her computer stuff, and other such fluff into it. Well when she left, she left all her stuff there as well, and I had just boxed it up and threw it in the closet. Well a year of just throwing more and more crap in a closet, and using the spare bedroom as a cat room (where I could just toss the howling monkey cat into a room with a litterbox when she howled too loud).
So I spent an entire afternoon going through crap, all my old bills and paperwork in 2 boxes that needed to be sorted out and most tossed out. Then bag up all her stuff, and toss out a bunch of other shit. Then onto the painting! the fun part! Spent all saturday painting the walls white. Sad thing is that I ran out of paint with 1 wall to go (the wall with 3 windows). So I had to go out sunday to another home ec store and pick up some more paint...the shitty thing is that they didn't have the exact same white I had before, so now my windows are a brighter shade of white, yet looks awesome none the less.
You might ask, what the fuck am I doing? Well, since it used to be a computer room (and now the computer is in the living room). I decided I would turn it into a gun workshop/workout area. That way I can work on my guns without springs shooting all the way into a kitchen while I attempt to fix a shotgun sitting on my really nice coffee table with gunoil everywhere. And the workout area so I have a place to put my weights and actually work out instead of doing it all in the livingroom.
Hmmmmm..what else? Oh, talked to my dad this week, he's buying me a greyhound ticket to his place in indiana in may. He's got the week off and wants me to spend some time with him and my family out there. It's been 3 and a half years since I have seen dad (the day he got married)..just never got around to going to see him, now this time I can! Of course from talking to him, it's going to be 3 weeks of manual labor. He's gotta rebuild his deck in the house he just bought..breaking concrete, repouring, putting an overhang and all that in. And right when I arrive, 28 elm tree's arrive at the same time, ready to be planted on 2 acres of property. LOL I thought using your kids as slave labor ended when you moved out of the house, but I guess not. None the less, Im going to enjoy the time I will spend with him :-)
So it's been an interesting weekend, that's for sure. A co-worker is supposed to come by and buy the 55gallon fishtank this weekend, which should fund a nice air conditioner for the spare bedroom, since it's getting to be summer time and I have only 1 AC unit in the house..and probably buy a work light for the room too.
Next paycheck, plan on a journal entry on "how I sawed off 5 fingers with a circular saw, and nailed my other hand to a 4x4" while myself, and another co-worker attempt to build a work bench with powertools.
