That's what she said. ;)
No really, I haven't posted in forever. Ali reminded me of that.
Let's see...
I am officially done with forensics competing. PKD: 2nd in the nation in Inform, semi-finalist in Prose, 7th in Pentathlon. NFA: we got 11th in D3, falling half a point short of my career goal of taking 10th, bringing home a trophy, and getting announced in front of the whole community. Would have been great for the program, considering it has only happened once in team history. We fell a bit short though... still, not a bad way to go out for Ben. And even though they don't have me next year, I want them to improve. It can be done! I'll be around to coach and stuff.
Almost done with the semester. Thank God. I only have two finals and a presentation left. Then student teaching in the fall. I was placed in Delevan. Good news is that I get to be in speech classes. Yay!
I am working at CTD again this summer, with Equinox. So I'll be teaching high schoolers in AP English at Northwestern University. It's fun and it looks killer on a resume.
Grad school... I am trying to figure that out. It is a beast to select a school. I want to learn more about Instructional Communication, so yeah. I not only need to find a program that I like, I need to get accepted there. And I am going to want an assistantship. And I am going to want them to have a forensics program, though that isn't quite a mandatory quality. (Maybe start a team up as part of my degree...hmm...)
I think life would be easier if mom and dad were still living in Wisconsin.
Spent Easter with Julie's family. It was great. I love her a lot, and it makes me happy when we talk about our future together, and not as individuals.
Even though I am done competing ... I am constantly thinking about forensics. I have got so many ideas for next year for the team... I refuse to let us fall back. We took a big step this year, so I'd like to hold that ground we gained. And the way to do that is through Public Address events. As Julie put it: you can teach that. Interp is just... either you have it, or you don't. And I want us to go to a couple of TCFL tournaments.
Regardless, I have so many new ideas for things... I hope President Brandi will let me implement them.
Apparently, I won a couple leadership awards for the campus. One is just an outstanding leader campus award, the other is a leadership scholarship (which means i get $500!). So... Ben is cool.
Ok, I am off to work. Alumni Center 6-9. Bam!
