The only thing I've ever carved into stone has been the determination never to carve anything into stone. Almost two decades into my crusade against black-or-white thinking, I have finally come up against my own personal version of the omnipotence paradox. The grayscale paradox. I'm backed into a corner. Can a die-hard flexivangelist maintain her commitment to rabid anti-absolutism with an absoluteness that even she cannot flex?
