Golly gee, it must be like totally stressful to be a Working Mom. This Decorative Mom gig is hard enough! If someone was actually cutting me a paycheck for the middle 8 hours of my day, I think I'd definitely slit my wrists from the hardness.
Taking on a course load that allowed me to finish my bachelor's degree in 23 months was a much-needed, refreshing, life-affirming and reinvigorating relief from the constant and unrelenting pressure of full-time parenting. I was only doing about 8-10 hours per week of paid work in addition to the 72 hours a week of work that my classes required, and I really enjoyed the break from the demands of the kids. Good thing I wasn't getting paid for the majority of those hours, though, or it would have made life tougher instead of easier. Right? Because then I would have been a Working Mom, and that is uniquely super-hard. Being compensated is so draining.
