I had a full length dream last night and it was pretty sweet. The guy who played the pilot of the space ship that Bruce Willis was on in Armaggeddon was in it.
Believe me when I say it was a lot more complicated than what I'm about to describe, but it's really tough to get it all down. I know you know.
I started off watching a movie at a friends house (clearly we were in the future, cause the tv guide system was crazy) starring Robin Williams. Themovie opened with robin williams throwing stones into a giant mountain lake, then the camera swooped up and you saw the whole range and his family across the way, setting up camp at their mountain cabin. They were all waiting for something to happen at a very specific time. Then the movie became my life, because it had been about my life the whole time, I was just living it now instead of watching it in movie form.
A triangular space ship came down to the edge of the lake and dropped another, smaller craft that contained me, for I was an alien. The aliens got out and started talking with my earth parents who would be taking care of me. Apparently it was like some kind of joint custody thing (I thought at first) where I lived on earth part of the time and on some other planet the rest of the time. Except that I was a baby and had no idea that I wasn't human.
So life goes on and various things happen. I hang out with friends, we watch more movies and stuff (all of them seem to be the same movie with robin williams). At one point for some reason a cop car drives through my back yard and out onto the front yard to the road. I thought he was coming for me and I thought about throwing away my pot, but then he kept driving, so whatever. There was a long series of average life stuff. Something about a picture drawn for me with words of songs that were actually words to other songs, and the words were falling into a volcano...? That sounds about right...
Then, a plague came. And in my favorite dream way of killing off the world, it turned everyone into zombies! So me and my friends piled into an old VW wagon and started trying to find some answers as to why the world turned into zombies, all the while trying avoid these zombies and deal with the treachery of an evil looking hitchhiker we picked up along the way (played by the guy who was the captain of the ship bruce willis was on in armaggeddon). He would have left any one of us to die on any number of occasions. Like the time him and this other guy were captured by the zombies and tied to trees in preparation of being eaten by a whole bunch of zombies at once. He got out of his ropes just as we all got there to help, but he wasn't going to help our other friend. He just jumped in the car and tried to get us to go, but we stayed and helped our other friend. It was very heroic of us.
To get answers about the zombies, we went to Cook Library, which was massive and had been remodeled and expanded so it reached all the way to milwaukee ave, completely taking over the park. It was all futuristic, with curved concrete walls and many floors (one, I overheard someone asking about, was called the egyptian level). Everyone working at or wandering around the library was a zombie, so I had to be careful. Then I noticed that the library administrators were not zombies, but instead were some other kind of person, made of secrets and good and able to kill the zombies with a touch of their hand. They knew about me being an alien and told me that my purpose on earth was not to just spend half my time here, half my time on another world. Instead I was suppose to chronicle the last years of a doomed species.
I went back to my friends and told them about me being an alien and all that was going on. A couple of them (including the guy who played the captain of the spaceship bruce willis was on in armaggeddon) didn't believe it and got angry and went off to try and survive on their own. Me and the rest of my friends took the VW back up to the mountains where the movie with Robin Williams took place and met up with my alien family who took us off of earth to live happily ever after on a world free of zombies.
Then I saw how my other 'friends' were doing. They were in a field surrounded by zombies. The sun had turned red, so everything looked like it was covered in blood. I felt kinda bad for them, but I guess they deserved it.
Like I said, it was a lot more complicated than that, but that's mostly what I dreamed of last night.
