I had to share this with you. It touched me so deeply, especially since I've been talking about how Jesus romances us.
Zephaniah 3:14-17
Sing, O daughter of Zion!
Shout O Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem!
The Lord has taken away your judgements,
He has cast out your Enemy.
The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst;
You shall see disaster no more.
In that day it shall be said:
"Do not fear.
Zion, let not your hands be weak.
The Lord your God who is in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save.
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
he will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."
I have so many thoughts on this passage, but what I love most are two lines "He will quiet you with his Love, and rejoice over you with singing."
What is it like the hear God sing? And a song about you?!! And the fact that he can quiet us just by loving us astounds me. So often I'm so caught up in living that I forget who I'm living for. So I need to be quieted, and remember that Jesus is the reason I'm living, and I need to redirect my focus on him.
But seriously, how many guys do you know would actually sing over a girl, rejoice over her and quiet her because of how much they love her! If that's not romance I don't know what is! hee hee. :)
This morning I was so caught up in reading this that I forgot to take my sticky buns out of the oven, and when I took them out, of course they were all burned on top. And I could just see Jesus laughing because these things always happen to me, so I just started laughing and laughing. And of course when I turned them upside down, they were perfect and gooey and only the ones on top got burned. So he saved my breakfast and gave me a good laugh to boot! Well I need to get going.
