Retail sucks!!!!
I have decided that working retail at Christmas is one of the single most depressing things ever! By this time next year I am determined to find a job that doesn't include retail customer service!!!! Infact that's gonna be my new years resolution. Th mor x-mas music I haer the more I just want to cry.
Working retail usually sucks, but this time of year it sucks even more. Not only are the customers in more of a rush and are meaner as a result, but the management gets all screwy too. We've got unrealistic sales goal as well as not enough payroll hours to deal with the increaced shipments of merchandice to put out so they all start panicing and running around like Chicken Little "The shy is falling, the sky is falling!"
I am so heartily sick of working for a company I am ethically opposed to. I've gotten myself to a point that I'm trying to figure out what else am I qualified for. I've got to be qualified for some decent jobs... I've got my Bachelors degree, I have a few years management experience, I'm an excellent researcher, I can type pretty well. I mean, I've got skills, what shoulds I do next? Ideally, I'd love to go back to Hot Topic, at least that was a company I believed in. They take good care of their employees. In fact they have always been in that top 500 companies to work for. Realistically, I'd like something that doesn't require me to be on my feet all day.
My worst fear is being somebodies secratary. I respect those who can, but I've had a few bad experiences in that area too and I don't want to jump from the pan to the fire!
I just need to get my sorry ass on project runway. That's what I need to do. Anyone got ideas how to find out when and where they will cast next season?!
