Just gotta try to let it go sweety sometimes people are just plain mean...just because they can be just because of things entirely unrelated to anything thats happening at that given time. A few weeks ago this woman came to the dealership that the unicorn works at. She'd bought a minivan there a few days ago and she came in screaming because the brakes were making noise or something...and she wanted a whole new car....she didn't want them to fix her brakes for free...didn't want anything that was reasonable to fix her problem she just fixated on that one thing that she wanted....and then when they tried to make her see reason she parked her van IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET a very very busy street and locked all the doors and put the key SOMEWHERE...they never did find it *ew* They had to call the cops to come shut down the street and bust open the window of the van and literally drag her out ....people are mean and ignorant and just plain rude and sometimes they're just crazy *g*

one of the great things about working for my dad (there were lots, as much as i bitched) was that i just called the cops on assholes like that. it was what he told me to do after all =) friggin psycho. just remember, if you didn't make them crazy, you can't make them sane either, just employ the buddy system and get as many other employees around you for support as you can. it will also diffuse the focus of the shouting.

and yes, i picture you being very nice to the customers =)

At the bar I was resently managing, I had a customer who started cusing out my bartender because we run out of cranberry juice, she tried to explain it to her but the lady got all irate started calling her things like "f*in' white bitch" and it got worse and louder from there my bartender had all ready stoped saying anything to her, then she started screamin "I'm going to shoot your white ass". That was when I interviened and tried to calm the situation. I've seen this a hundred times, something was very wrong in her life, and she started screaming at me yada yada.... I had her thrown out. I really was tring to be understanding, because sometimes people just need to vent but after threatening to shoot people, no way.

Later I was talking to her boss which has been a customer of mine for a while. He said that she had recently been attacked and raped and since the incident an emotional wreck.

Sometimes people just need to explode, if it wasn't you it would be someone else. Don't sweat it.

Yeah, I know you're right. I'm just on a personal campaign of "Don't let your shitty life bleed on mine, damn it!" I've got such little compassion left these days. Everyones got a hard luck story, doesn't mean you're allowed to spew hate at everyone in your general vicinity. At least with the drunks, you can chalk it up to alcohol loosening the tounge and putting the brain to sleep. However, that tends to make them more belligerent ;-)

so far at joannes i've been called a liar, a cheat, and dirty, not to mention several variations of stupid and (my favorite) been responsible for "teachers getting shit on again" cause some woman missed a sale by a day. cause y'know i totally have no respect for teachers. people in the fabric store are nuts maybe its something emitted by telezon radiation. we should get together sometimes and have a joanne bitch fest it will be great fun!

yes, yes we should have a nice old bitch fest 'bout Joannes! You comming to pennsic this year?! You'll recognize a lot of my stuff ;-) Like my nifty fleur-de-lys double shephards hook that I'm oh-so-pleased with.

Obviously, a few days later and I'm back to myself again. My theory right now is, it's the horrible combined scent of those sachet packets and the stink of all the flip-flops in baskets by the front doors that are driving all reason from the brains of our customers. I think us employees are immune due to excess exposure over long periods of time.
