Some people shouldn't be parents....

I was waiting for the train, and I wasn't even there for 5 min when I heard these two women talking crap to their kids.  One was holding their hand and saying that she wasn't letting go, because she didn't want the kid to torment the pigeons, which is fine.  He was 2+, so I can understand, it's the terrible two's.  The other chick has a girl maybe 3-4 years old, and she was yelling at bother her kid, and the little boy (the mom was her friend).  When I first walked up, the was dapping the kid on the head.  I thought maybe she was being playful.  Then she said "Yeah, you think you're cute, but if you go bother those birds I'm make your face ugly."  She told her daughter that she was going to slap her or punch her if she went near the bird again.  She said "Don't make me hit you!"  There were people all around.  I was surprised to hear this talk.

I just don't agree with hitting a kid.  I was slapped by my drunk uncle when I was a toddler.  When he died I was happy that he did.  I remember seeing him and thought "Good."  As a kid, it had put a damper on my X-mas when I ran and picked up a present and he smacked me and said "That's not for you!"  I went up to the balcony and sulked while my family was in the living room.

So, yeah, don't smack a kid!  Don't make me smack YOU!

On another note..... How sad are you if you are stealing items from the goodwill pile.  I saw someone rummaging through the pile this weekend, and when I walked by again almost all of it was gone.  That's sad.  I hope the person was in need, and not just greedy.  Sad.
