I am not sure how I found this on Youtube, but I am sure glad I did. I'm just going to quote the About This Video-blurb...

A 3-dimensional visualization of the "Millennium Simulation." The movie shows a journey through the simulated universe. On the way, we visit a rich cluster of galaxies and fly around it. In a period of 2 minutes during the movie, we travel a distance for which light would need more than 2.4 billion years.

This video features a beautiful song by Bear McCreary called "Deathbed And Maelstrom" from the album "Battlestar Galactica: Season 3"

Isn't it just...stirring? It's ok if you don't agree :). And of course, the music is perfect. I get emotionally worked up by the BSG soundtracks without fail, and specifically, I cry a bit just listening to this song. There are other versions set to different music, but this one is obviously my favorite.

This reminds me that I have to buy the Battlestar Galactica Season 3 soundtrack. I can't find it on iTunes, though I have tried (have any of you seen it there?), so I'll probably just go out and get the cd.

music, tv: battlestar galactica, space, bear mccreary is my frakking hero, soundtracks, itunes, youtube, the universe
