The bassics
The old Yamaha bass amp I bought at a yard sale Sunday is the best $30 I've spent in a long while. Cosmetically, it's been beat all to hell, but it plays great and is pretty damn loud to boot. (Factor in the G&L bass I use, which is known to be among the loudest, and I've got a neighbor-hating machine in my bedroom for sure). There's no way I could have gotten a 120w combo amp for less than $75 or $100 used in a store. The guy I bought it from is moving to LA this weekend though, and he had to get rid of it pronto. Plus, it really does *look* terrible, seeing as how the entire grille and faceplate is missing, lol! Gotta love punk rock aesthetics. (Actually, there's almost no info on this amp online, but what little I did find indicated that the grille was attached with velcro so that it would be easily removable. WTF?!)
