Ironic.  There's no other word to describe how so many things about the situation tie into the past in so many different ways.

For example, the scarf Jay used:  it had been Jarkko's once, and they had used it in the bedroom many times.  He had never been one to use scarves that way before, but he learned.  He learned well.
