Update
Got issue 2 of TGA (the print magazine done by The Girls Are website). I love the design - it feels very clean + fresh without being too cold. And I think they manage to get a fairly good mix of stuff in. So this issue included Chloe Charles, Janet Weiss, Brody Dalle, Shonen Knife and Portia Sabin of Kill Rock Stars. I also like their regular features of having different illustrators interpret the same song (in this case, Hounds of Love by Kate Bush) and the paper dolls (in this issue it was JD Samson and Beyonce - tho' personally I wasn't that keen on the Beyonce one as I thought they could have picked a better outfit/accessories). I think the next issue is due out in the Summer.
I think the price is a bit of a drawback - it's £6 an issue - but they don't have any advertising in the magazine to support them which I actually quite like. When I got my issue they had a special deal where you could also buy a limited edition Grace Jones cloth bag with it for £10 so naturally I did that because who can resist a Grace Jones bag??? The website features a lot of stuff that isn't in the magazines so that's worth a visit as well http://www.thegirlsare.com
Also got Woman + Home which had a Robert Downey Jr. interview + a little mention of Penny Dreadful (which I still haven't managed to see yet).
